Sections of the Leeds United support in attendance at the club’s meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday were keen to make their frustrations with current developments in west Yorkshire clear, by means of a series of chants directed at the Whites’ board.
Jesse Marsch’s troops were of course back in action a short time ago.
After watching Burnley slip to defeat at the hands of Tottenham earlier in the day, the Peacocks welcomed Brighton to Elland Road, in the knowledge that a positive result would have seen them climb out of the relegation zone.
And, when all was said and done, though their efforts to carve out a vital three points came up short, Leeds did manage to secure what could prove to be a season-defining share of the spoils.
It was Brighton who opened the scoring on the day, as Danny Welbeck dinked a lovely finish beyond Illan Meslier to silence Elland Road midway through the first-half.
23′: Totally deserved! 🤩 Yves played in Danny down the right and he chipped Illan Meslier with a lovely finish! 🍟

Leeds, though, continued to push for an equaliser throughout, and were eventually rewarded for their efforts deep into injury time, when Joe Gelhardt’s cross to the back post was nodded home by Pascal Struijk.

Bielsa chants spread
As alluded to above, though, whilst the afternoon’s action came to a close amid celebrations on the part of the home crowd at Elland Road, not long before, the atmosphere had begun to take a turn for the worse.
This came as the Leeds faithful made their anger with the club clear, by means of a series of chants.
After cries rang out for former manager and club icon Marcelo Bielsa, both owner Andrea Radrizzani and the Whites board were targeted in ruthless fashion, aptly encapsulating the extent of the tension in west Yorkshire at present.

Chants of ‘Marcelo Bielsa’ go up in the South Stand and ‘Radrizzani this is on you’ from the North.
