Newcastle United continue to monitor out of favour Manchester United shot stopper Dean Henderson ahead of a potential summer swoop, according to reports.
The Magpies are in the hunt for a new goalkeeper this summer, with current no.1 Martin Dubravka ranking just 14th out of all Premier League shot-stoppers this season (as per FBRef data).
And, as per the Mirror, they are ready to ‘intensify’ their interest in Henderson, who has made just 3 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils this season.
‘Eddie Howe, who wanted Henderson on loan in January, sees the £20million-rated England international as the ideal successor to Newcastle No1 Martin Dubravka’, the report claims.
And it seems as though the Englishman may well be on the move, as they add that ‘Henderson, 25, is understood to be ready to seek a move unless incoming Old Trafford boss Erik Ten Hag guarantees that he will become the Red Devils’ first-choice keeper ahead of David de Gea’.
New boss speaks out on Timber rumours
Meanwhile, Manchester United boss Ten Hag has failed to shut down any rumours of Ajax defender Jurrien Timber following the Dutchman from Ajax to Old Trafford.
Timber has excelled under Ten Hag this season, making 30 Eredivise appearances this campaign on their way to another title.
And, speaking to Dutch media, he claimed that ‘I think all the top clubs in Europe have Timber in their sights, but I think that applies to a lot of Ajax players at the moment.’
As per Sky Germany, the Red Devils are ‘seriously interested’ in signing the 20-year-old to bolster their backline.

Antony is another player that could be on the move this summer, with Ten Hag adding that ‘If Antony were to go, it would be a loss for Ajax. He is top class.’
Darwin Nunez price set
Finally, Manchester United have been told that it would set them back around 60m euros to prise Darwin Nunez away from Benfica, with the Portuguese side already lining up a replacement.
It is widely assumed that Nunez will be joining a European giant this summer, if not Manchester United then another, and now as per the Athletic, ‘sources close to the matter think he can be got for around €60 million, which is below previously mentioned figures.’

Manchester United make the most sense, with the club in desperate need of a striker or two, and Nunez seemingly ready to continue his massive upwards trajectory away from Portugal.
