Leagues around Europe are gearing up for their final weekend of action, with a handful already seeing their campaigns draw to a close.
The 2021/22 Bundesliga campaign drew to a close this past weekend whilst the Serie A, Ligue 1 and La Liga are all set to end this weekend.
With this in mind, 101 have detailed everything you would need to know about Europe’s top-five leagues (outside of the Premier League) ahead of their final weekend of action.
Serie A
The Serie A draws to a close this coming weekend, with the final tie taking place at 8 pm on May 22, and there are still a number of things to play for.
Firstly, and most importantly, the Serie A title remains up for grabs. AC Milan currently top the division with 83 points and a 35 goal difference with Inter Milan just two points behind with a 49 goal difference.
As a result, if AC Milan lose or draw with Sassuolo and Inter beat Sampdoria, Milan would forfeit the scudetto to their bitter rivals on the final day.
Elsewhere, the Champions League places have already been secured by both Milans, Napoli and Juventus. However, the fight for a Europa League and Europa Conference League spot rumbles on.
Lazio are guaranteed a Europa League place but AS Roma – currently 6th – may drop into the Europa Conference League as they are only one point above Fiorentina (7th) and Atalanta (8th).
The fight for survival is also set to go down to the wire. Venezia have been confined to the Serie B already. However, both Genoa (19th) and Cagliari (18th) can still stave off relegation by winning their game and hoping Salernitana, who are 17th and have a worse goal difference than both teams, lose.
Ligue 1
Like the Serie A, Ligue 1 draws to a close this weekend with every side in action at 8 pm UK time on May 21.
At the top of the table PSG already have the title firmly wrapped up, currently sitting 15 points clear of second.
Elsewhere, the fight for the Champions League and Europa League places is an extremely tight one. AS Monaco are currently second with 68 points, Marseille are third with 68 points and Rennes are 4th with 65 points but have a much better goal difference than those aforementioned sides.
As a result, their remains a chance that all three teams could swap positions and, in turn, the European competitions they will be playing in, by the end of the gameweek.
Further down the division, Strasbourg (5th on 63 points) and Nice (6th on 63 points), remain in with a chance of getting Europa League or Europa Conference League football next term.
Finally, as Metz and St-Etienne are on 31 points a piece but unable to climb to 17th, the pair must do battle to decide which team will secure the relegation play-off spot for a chance at remaining in the league.
La Liga
In La Liga Real Madrid have already taken the crown with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid guaranteed a top-four finish no mater their results this weekend.
Outside of that, Sevilla need at least a draw in their final clash to ensure they secure 4th spot over Real Betis who are 5th, three points off Sevilla with the same goal difference.
Real Sociedad then already have the final Europa League spot wrapped up, but Villarreal (7th with 56 points), need a win on the final day to ensure Athletic Bilboa (8th with 55 points) do not steal the Europa Conference League place away from them.
There is also set to be a relegation scrap in Spain this weekend as Cadiz (18th) are only behind Mallorca (17th) due to goal difference and are only one point off Granada (16th).
Bundesliga
Finally, as mentioned above, the Bundesliga drew to a close this last week.
Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig secured the top-four spots in that order.
Union Berlin and SC Freiburg earned Europa League finishes whilst Koln grabbed the Europa Conference League place.
Finally, at the bottom end of the table, Hertha finished 16th, which is a relegation play-off place, Arminia and Furth, though, were relegated to the Bundesliga 2.
