Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has reportedly added another Ajax player in the form of Lisandro Martinez to his transfer wishlist this summer.
It has been widely reported that the dutchman is keen on adding Jurrien Timber, 20, to his squad once more in the upcoming transfer window, having seen him the centre of his defence for his latest title win with Ajax.
However, there is a new name on the radar too, in the shape of Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez, who has played alongside Timber this season and has been an unsung hero in the Ajax side, frequently in the shadow of his younger teammate.
As per the Telegraph, however, ‘Argentina centre-back Lisandro Martínez has been added to the list of Manchester United targets ahead of Erik ten Hag’s arrival as manager.’

The 24-year-old Argentine, who has appeared 24 times in the Eredivise this campaign, ‘is seen as an ideal player in the Dutchman’s one-v-one defensive tactics that has brought him Eredivisie titles’.
Normally playing in a back three, should he and Timber both follow Ten Hag to Old Trafford, it would spell the end of a first-team spot for either Harry Maguire or last summer’s signing Raphael Varane.
Plenty still to do
Elsewhere, the Red Devils will be looking for a pair of midfielders at the very least, one in a defensive mould and a more creative option, while new full-backs are also a must given the form of Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot under Ralf Rangnick.
The glaring issue remains at striker, where only 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo is the only recognised option. It is sure to be a very busy summer.
