Mikel Arteta has revealed that he plans to take Arsenal ‘to the next level’ this summer.
The Gunners boss and hierarchy seemingly opted not to sign anyone in January in order to keep their powder dry for the summer, and opened his press conference by claiming that ‘we have a clear plan. There’s no secrets, we need resources and we need to improve the quality and the depth of the squad.’
💬 “We’re going to be cheering for Norwich and after that, we’re going to take this club to the next level.”

And, that plan is set to be well backed by the ownership, it seems, with the Spaniard revealing that ‘we are going to have certain resources, not unlimited resources, certain resources’.
He went on to point out how far the club still have to go, claiming that ‘we are not where we should be. This club’s history is to be the best in this country. It takes time to get there and a certain amount of time and windows.’
So, in the words of Josh Kroenke, it might finally be time for Arsenal fans to ‘be excited’ this summer.
Arsenal’s top 4 hopes hang by a thread
Arsenal need a miracle to secure Champions League football next season after bruising defeats to Tottenham and Newcastle United in the space of 5 days took it out of their hands.
The Gunners need to beat Everton and hope that bottom of the league and already relegated Norwich can massively upset the odds and beat Tottenham at Carrow Road on the final day of the season.
Even a draw wouldn’t be enough for Arsenal to snatch 4th spot (barring them beating Everton by 15 goals, in which case they would leapfrog Tottenham on goals scored), meaning that a season in the Europa League is by far the most likely outcome for the Gunners next campaign.
