Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher has issued his response on Friday, after Everton star Richarlison made his feelings towards the ex-defender crystal clear courtesy of a social media dig.
Richarlison’s jibe came fresh on the back of his side securing Premier League survival just shy of 24 hours ago.
After heading into the interval of the club’s meeting with Crystal Palace two goals down, Frank Lampard’s troops came roaring back over the course of the 2nd-half, to ultimately emerge on the right side of a 3-2 scoreline.
The aforementioned Richarlison, who inevitably proved instrumental in his side’s eventual triumph over Palace, in turn, made use of the opportunity to snipe back at some of his critics.
Taking to his official Twitter account, the Brazilian, referencing recent comments on the part of Jamie Carragher in which he was accused of frequently feigning injury, Richarlison sniped back:
‘Wash your mouth before you talk about me and everton and I don’t respect you’.

And now, as alluded to above, Carragher has issued his response.
Those hopeful of the Sky Sports pundit playing his part in something of a war of words between the pair, however, need not get too excited.
Instead, in a post on his own Twitter account, Carragher revealed that he ‘quite liked’ Richarlison’s jibe in his direction, before hinting that he would likely have drawn issue with pundits on a regular basis during his own playing days, had social media been more accessible:
I actually quite like this, if Twitter was about when I was a player I’m sure I would’ve called pundits out quite a lot!! https://t.co/skfIpPCQhQ
