AS Roma star Tammy Abraham has, on Friday, etched his name ever further into the history books of the capital club.
The Giallorossi are locked in action at present, having made the trip to Turin for a meeting with Torino as part of the final round of 2021/22 Serie A fixtures.
And it has proven an altogether positive outing for Jose Mourinho’s troops thus far.
Early in the 2nd-half of play, Roma lead by two goals to nil, owing to a double on the part of that man Abraham.
After opening the scoring in style courtesy of a clever turn and finish, the English international followed up with a coolly-taken penalty shortly before half-time, to guide the evening’s visitors into what looks an unassailable advantage.

And, as alluded to above, in the process of bagging his latest brace, Abraham has secured for himself a spot in the storied history books of AS Roma.
This comes with the former Chelsea man’s 2nd of the night having marked his 17th goal of an altogether productive debut season in Italy, guiding him beyond Gerry Hitchens (1961/62) as the highest-scoring Englishman ever across a single Serie A campaign.
With that goal, Tammy Abraham is now the highest scoring English player ever in a single Serie A season

First Conference League champions?
Abraham’s stellar stint to date in Rome could of course yet be made all the sweeter in just shy of a week’s time.
Though the club’s efforts to secure a return to the Champions League have ultimately come up short, the Giallorossi remain in with a great shot of adding to their silverware cabinet next Wednesday night.
This comes with a showdown with Dutch giants Feyenoord lying in wait, the winner of which will see themselves crowned as the first-ever Europa Conference League champions.
