Reports over the weekend had suggested that Ousmane Dembele was close to signing for Chelsea when his contract with Barcelona runs out this summer, but now it seems as though Liverpool have entered the frame for the Frenchman.
Speaking to the media, the 25 year old’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, revealed that there was as of yet no agreement with any club.
‘His future remains open’ he revealed. ‘We are and have always been very respectful to all clubs. When it is the right time to make a decision, Ousmane will consider the best option for his future.’
But reports in Spain claimed that despite this, a move to Chelsea and a reunion with Thomas Tuchel, who coached the Frenchman during their time together at Borussia Dortmund, was on the cards.

Liverpool late movers?
Now, however, Liverpool may have just entered the race, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
The report claims that amid the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino this summer and Mo Salah next, Liverpool ‘believe that Dembélé is a good market opportunity’
While Salah has confirmed that he will be at Liverpool next season, before potentially leaving on a free transfer when his contract runs out, Sadio Mane has been far less clear on the matter amid speculation linking him to Bayern Munich.
And, should he depart, there would be a gap in the squad for a World-Class forward, something that Dembele on his day undoubtedly is.
Whether the Reds could afford to make the move remains to be seen.
