The deal represents a real coup for Wolves as the midfielder had been waiting for Man Utd to make him an offer.
However, the Reds Devils have not been forthcoming and Bruno Lage is now hoping to sign his ideal midfielder.
Palhinha is a Portuguese international and has really impressed in the Liga NOS for Sporting.
The Wolves boss sees the player as a strong candidate to replace Neves should he leave the club this summer.
Manchester United and Barcelona targeting Neves
Manchester United and Barcelona are both reportedly interested in Neves.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed five highly successful seasons at Molineux.
But now could be the time he finally moves with Wolves missing out on European football.
The Midlands club finished 10th in the table having failed to win any of their last seven matches.
