Reports emerging ahead of the weekend claim that Liverpool are unhappy with Mohamed Salah.
Salah is, of course, out of contract at Anfield in 2023 and talks over a new deal look to have hit a brick wall some time ago.
Earlier this week, The Athletic delivered a fresh update on the situation reporting that Mohamed Salah is going nowhere this summer, regardless of whether he signs a new contract.
However, beyond next summer, Salah’s future is increasingly uncertain and, to make matters worse, The Athletic alleges that Salah’s preference would be to stay in the Premier League rather than head overseas.
This would likely see Salah join one of Manchester City, Chelsea or Manchester United due to his hefty wages demands.

Now, on the back of this talk, it appears Liverpool are pretty angry. Graeme Bailey, writing for Anfield Watch, said: “I do know that this suggestion [of Salah joining another Premier League side] has not gone down well with Anfield officials and the club hierarchy hasn’t responded well to these reports.”
He adds that Salah’s representatives have barely talked to Fenway Sports Group this year and that FSG are adamant about not breaking their wage structure to such an extent that Salah could earn double that of current top-earner Virgil van Dijk.
