French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain are considering launching an assault for AS Roma boss Jose Mourinho over the coming weeks, according to reports.
The subject of the bench at the Parc des Princes has, of course, returned to the fore in the media headlines over the last 24 hours.
This comes amid mounting claims that the imminent appointment of Luis Campos as sporting director in the French capital will give rise to the swift dismissal of current head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Should such a scenario come to pass, then PSG, of course, will be in the market for a new manager.
And, as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Saturday is anything to go by, then one altogether surprising candidate for the post is understood to have been earmarked by those in a position of power in Paris.
The tactician in question? Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho, of course, is fresh off a fine season in Italy with AS Roma, which saw the Portuguese guide the Giallorossi to a first-ever European title in the Europa Conference League.
And it is such success on the continent which is understood to have piqued the attentions of the board at Paris Saint-Germain, amid the club’s ongoing pursuit to add a first-ever Champions League crown to their silverware cabinet.
As per a report from the reliable Jason Burt of The Telegraph, Mourinho has emerged as a legitimate contender to take up the reins at the Parc des Princes ahead of next season.
It now remains to be seen whether the 59-year-old would be prepared to call time on his Roma stint after just a solitary year in Italy’s capital.
Also in the running for the PSG job, meanwhile, are understood to be free agent Zinedine Zidane and River Plate boss Marcelo Gallardo.
