Newcastle United are looking to bolster their ranks with RB Salzburg talent Luka Sucic this summer, according to reports.
The Magpies are on the hunt for a creative option for Eddie Howe’s midfield, but have been rebuffed in their attempts to lure Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig and Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma so far this summer.
Instead, it appears, they have opted to mine the talent at source, with Salzburg known for producing some of the top players on the continent. The likes of Ibrahima Konate, Erling Haaland, Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Patson Daka have all come off their illustrious conveyer belt.
Now, the Magpies are looking to turn this to their advantage, lining up a move for talented midfielder Sucic, who played 28 times for the Austrian side last campaign.

A cultured left-footed player able to either play as a central midfielder or further forward as a no.10, he chipped in with 8 goals and 4 assists as he helped his side to another Austrian title.
Standing at 6ft1, he would also help continue to build a physically imposing Newcastle side, which can already boast Dan Burn and Chris Wood, while at just 19 years old he would help ensure that the Tyneside outfit continued to build for the future as well as the present, something that they are repeatedly reported as keen to do.
Should Newcastle firm up their interest, it is thought that Salzburg would demand around 20m euros for the Croatian.
Where else are Newcastle looking to strengthen?
The Magpies are looking to strengthen across much of the pitch, with a central defender, a goalkeeper and a striker on their list of targets.
Nathan Ake and Sven Botman have been touted as potential options to partner Dan Burn in the heart of their backline, but both are likely to cost a significant sum. Meanwhile, a deal for forward Hugo Ekitike is in the works too.
Hugo Ekitike’s representatives have held further positive talks with Newcastle United. Been told representatives given permission to negotiate as Newcastle & Reims continue talks to finalise deal. Deal worth €30m under discussion over 5 year contract. #NUFC #Ekitike
