Arsenal fans were treated to a potential glimpse of the future on Tuesday evening as two of their stars linked up for England’s under-21 side.
The Young Lions were in under-21 European Championship qualifying action, facing off with Albania as they looked to continue their perfect start to their group stage campaign.
And, when all was said and done, England came away with an impressive 3-0 win on the day.
It was Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun who stole the show, netting either side of the break before substitute Cameron Archer came on to kill the game off.
Balogun’s success will no doubt please Arsenal fans given, at present, he and Eddie Nketiah are set to be the Gunners’ only two striking options next term.
What will please them more, though, is that Balogun would combined with fellow Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe for his first goal:
HT: England U21s 1-0 Albania U21s
It’s been coming…
The Young Lions will be happy to go into the half-time break with a narrow lead.
