Miltiadis Marinakis, son of Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos, has been presented with an award for Entrepreneurship by Greek Prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis alongside his increasingly prominent role with the midlands side.
His standalone company, Shopflix.gr, sells a wide range of items ranging from gaming equipment to pet supplies, and is one of several ventures away from football.
The site only began in 2021 but already ships across Greece and employs over 90 people, a feat recognised by the Greek Chamber of Commerce in Athens, who deemed it worthy of an award.
Miltiadis steps up Forest association
Despite Evangelos Marinakis’ ownership of the club, it is Miltiadis who has upped his involvement at the City Ground this season, becoming a central figure in re-establishing a connection between the team, fans and ownership.
Speaking to Sky, his father highlighted this fact, telling the media that ‘I need to congratulate my son Miltiadis because he took over this year’, and with his love for the club evident.
Following their long-overdue return to the top flight, where they last played in 1999, Miltiadis penned a long open letter to the fans in which his affection for Forest was laid bare.
‘I am speechless’, he began.
‘I simply cannot describe to you all the emotions I’m feeling right now although what happened yesterday still hasn’t quite sunk in yet. I could easily have written a book about the past few months.’

‘It was at the end of June when I started becoming more and more involved with this magical club, and with every day that passed I fell in love with it even more’, Marinakis continued.
‘We wanted this more than anything and bringing this magical club back to where it belongs is exactly what you all deserve. Throughout this journey, we heard lots of outside noise and critics but we never stopped dreaming and believing- and we finally did it!’
