Those in a position of power at Premier League outfit Arsenal have, on Thursday evening, continued in their efforts to mould the squad set to be overseen by Mikel Arteta through the summer and beyond.
Ongoings on the red half of north London have of course taken their place front and centre in the headlines across the day to date.
This comes with Edu Gaspar and co, after seeing rivals Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool spring into action on the transfer market, having finally followed suit with a deal of their own.
As confirmed by a host of reliable sources, Porto talent Fabio Vieira is en route to England’s capital, to undergo a medical ahead of sealing a move to the Emirates.
This comes after Arsenal, altogether out of the blue, agreed to fork over €35 million, alongside a further €5 million in potential bonuses, on the 22-year-old’s signature.

As alluded to above, though, Arsenal’s endeavours to piece together the kind of squad capable of guiding the club back to the Champions League in the 2023/24 campaign have not ended there.
As per the reliable Simon Collings of the Evening Standard, the future of a current member of Mikel Arteta’s attacking ranks has today too been decided.
The player in question? Eddie Nketiah.
‘Standard Sport understands Nketiah has agreed to sign a long-term deal that, should he stay to the end of it, takes his time at Arsenal to over 10 years.’
The decision of the former English youth international to stay put at the Emirates is understood to have come based on the guarantee of improved game-time moving forward.
This of course comes after Nketiah thoroughly impressed upon finally being afforded the chance to impress on a weekly basis over the latter weeks of this past season.
Nevertheless, the one-time Chelsea talent will face an uphill task in securing starting duties over the season to come, with Arsenal also understood to be closing on a deal for Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus.
Eddie Nketiah is staying at Arsenal. Striker has agreed terms on long-term contract.
Nketiah been at Arsenal since 2015 and this deal would take time at club to over 10 years as runs past 2025.
