Salvatore Ferragamo, a luxury fashion brand, is joining the list of designer companies venturing into non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The company has unveiled a new concept store in the Soho district of New York City.
Salvatore Ferragamo launches Ethereum booth in NYC
Ferragamo is opening a new NFT booth in NYC that will allow customers to develop and mint their own Ethereum NFTs that will harbor different traits. The NFTs created by this fashion brand will be free to all visitors. However, these NFTs will be rare, as only 256 can be minted.
The fashion brand is making this move possible by partnering with Shxpir, a renowned artist who will guide the firm in developing the traits and the visual elements that comprise these NFTs.
Your capital is at risk.
Shxpir is an artist who deals in 3D digital art. The artist focuses on using glitch and surrealist attributes. Moreover, the artist has previously worked with Ferragamo to design a limited edition for the brand’s physical items, including t-shirts and sweatshirts.
Shxpir is not a stranger to working with NFTs for high-end fashion brands. The artist has worked with other brands, such as Coach. Earlier this month, Coach developed holographic NFTs inspired by Coach handbags, and Shxpir was involved in designing these colorful NFTs.
The CEO of Ferragamo in North America, Daniella Vitale, commented on why the company had chosen to work with Shxpir for these NFTs. The executive said that the artist “reflects the energy of New York City and Soho. He’s able to evocatively juxtapose grit with luxury in a way that not many others can.”
Enhancing personal experiences with the NFTs
Ferragamo shared a press release saying that the NFT booth offered a “multi-sensory” experience. The NFTs were aimed at integrating NFTs with personal experiences, and this move would be unique from what other companies have done.
“We know that the world of Web3 can be somewhat intimidating. As such, this project has been conceptualized in a way that demystifies the system. Even if you’re not experienced in NFTs or if you don’t have a wallet, we’ll guide you through the steps required,” the press release added.
Ferragamo’s NFTs are not the first to debut in the fashion world. Other top brands such as Gucci and Louis Vuitton have launched NFTs to promote user experiences and allow users to share their experiences on the blockchain.
