The Today show is a staple in morning television — in more ways than one! For years, the cohosts have been dressing up for Halloween for special holiday tapings.
From Broadway shows to Super Bowl performers, Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and more coanchors have gone all out with their outfits. And after their morning celebrations, the NBC personalities continue their festivities at home.
Kotb has dressed up as Sesame Street characters with her daughters, Hayley and Hope, multiple times over the years, she wrote via Instagram in October 2020.
“We’re doing the whole Sesame Street all over again, but we always get fresh shirts, fresh everything,” the Oklahoma native said, noting that her fiancé, Joel Schiffman, was the Big Bird to her Elmo. “Sunnnnnyyyy days sweepin’ the clouds awayyyyy! Happy Halloween.”
The following year, the Where We Belong author took her little ones trick-or-treating one week early. “No one answered the first two doors, but on the third door we got a Reese’s,” the former Dateline correspondent captioned an October 2021 social media upload.
As for Roker, his son, Nicholas, loves going above and beyond with his Halloween costumes.
“Nick wanted to be Bob from Bob’s Burgers,” the meteorologist said in 2020 of the teen he shares with wife Deborah Roberts. “He got the wig, the mustache, the whole nine yards and a fake burger that he walked around with.”
The You Look So Much Better in Person author misses trick-or-treating with his son and daughter Leila, he told his Instagram followers in October 2018.
“Feeling a little #wistful since tomorrow will be the first #halloween in 30 years that I won’t be going out to #trickortreat with one of my kids,” the New York native captioned throwback photos at the time.
Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager still trick-or-treat with their children. (Guthrie is the mother of Vale and Charles, while George W. Bush’s daughter has Mila, Poppy and Hal at home.)
In October 2017, Guthrie’s eldest child adorably asked to combine a Red Riding Hood costume with a Wonder Woman one. The following year, Hager’s girls matched in candy queen costumes.
“By the way, too much candy does the opposite of turning you into a princess. Stomach aches, melts, etc.,” the Sisters First author wrote via Instagram in October 2018. “Holding my babes close this morning. Let’s love each other.”
