In his early days of writing raps, Snoop Dogg borrowed a typewriter to get his lyrics down.
The US rapper revealed his unlikely writing instrument on an episode of The 85 South Comedy Show.
He told the hosts he used to borrow a typewriter from 2Scoops of G-funk group The Dove Shack.
Snoop Dogg said he had tried getting his words down on paper, but “I would lose my s***”.
Noticing 2Scoops was “organised and s***”, he concluded he was “just gonna type my s*** up”.
He added: “I used to type like 65 words a minute.”
His revelation provoked laughter and disbelief from the hosts, with one questioning “Snoop, you wrote raps on a typewriter?” and another commenting “That’s hilarious”.

Snoop Dogg said he learned to type “at a little white junior high school I went to”.
“I was one of them students that – I took a wood class, a metal class, I took typing, I took home economics. I took classes that was like different.
“I didn’t just want to be in the class with the homies and s*** and then go home and get a whooping and get in trouble.”
Snoop Dogg’s appearance on the show follows the release of Mount Westmore’s latest album, Snoop, Cube, 40, $hort. The group is comprised of hip-hop veterans Too $hort, E-40, and Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg.
Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus Jr, revealed he had given his full-time blunt roller a pay rise due to inflation.
