Showing her support. Tamera Mowry has publicly stood by twin sister Tia Mowry‘s side amid her divorce from Cory Hardrict.
In October 2022, Tia announced her split from Hardrict following more than a decade of marriage.
“I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways,” she wrote via Instagram. “These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives.”
At the time, Us Weekly confirmed that Tia cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakup, according to court documents. The actress didn’t include a date of separation in the paperwork but requested joint physical and legal custody of their kids, Cree and Cairo.
The Mistle-Tones star opened up about how she has adjusted to the major life change, exclusively telling Us in November, “It was not easy. I usually tell people in my close circle, ‘This is not for the weak.’ It’s very hard. I feel like when you continue to work on you and work on yourself and work on loving yourself and valuing yourself and having self-worth, the decision becomes easier.”
Tia continued: “Once you are in tune with yourself, it makes it easier to make that decision. But it doesn’t mean that it’s not hard. It was very difficult because you have to think about so many things.”
The former reality star shared her hopes for others to learn from her decision. “Everybody deserves to live their authentic life,” she added. “And I encourage people to do that no matter what anybody else is saying on the outside and really tap into yourself and tap into what really makes you happy and go for it.”
According to Tia, the former couple remained committed to coparenting their children. “I talk to [Cory] every single day. We tell each other [that] we love each other every single day,” the Family Reunion star shared about their approach. “He is family and he will always be family and a part of our lives forever.”
Tamera, for her part, praised her sister for handling her divorce with “grace.”
“That is what is inspiring,” the TV host explained to Us in December 2022. “You have your ups [and] you have your downs — but she’s allowing her experience to change her. I feel [like she has changed] for the better.”
