Police have warned the public not to approach a man who absconded from a secure hospital in Ealing.
Mosa Jamal Abid was on escorted leave – which is when patients are normally accompanied by a member of a staff from a hospital – at a newsagents in Uxbridge Road at about 3pm on 10 April when police say he ran off.
The 26-year-old is believed to have fled eastbound along Uxbridge Road before possibly entering Brent Lodge Park.
He was last seen wearing a navy hooded jacket, with black trousers and blue trainers.
The Metropolitan Police has since appealed to the public for information, but said he should not be approached as he can be violent.
The force added he requires medication for a health condition and might attend a hospital for help.
Police said it is possible he may approach local mosques during the Iftar period for food or drink.
Officers are keeping hospitals and mosques informed of any developments.
Detective Inspector Alistair Stillgoe, from the local policing team in west London, said: “I recognise this will cause concern in the community, however I want to assure you that we have officers working round the clock to find Mosa and return him to hospital as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information which could help police should immediately call 999 quoting CAD 3873/10Apr.
