Hikers discovered human remains Friday evening behind an old Rockport school.
The two people were hiking in a wooded area behind the former Rockport Elementary School on West Street about 6 p.m., according to Rockport Police Chief Randy Gagne.
The remains have been taken to the Maine medical examiner’s office for identification, Gagne said Friday night,
Gagne does not suspect foul play or that there’s a threat to the public.
No additional information was immediately available.
