Gorham residents went to the polls Tuesday to approve the town’s third school budget proposal.
The budget passed by a vote of 2,235-1,431.
The first proposal was shot down due to tax increases and the second failed due to cuts.
This third proposal was seen as more of a compromise.
With this budget, voters will see a tax increase of just over $310 on a $400,000 home, and the school system will cut five positions.
School starts for some grades on Aug. 28.
