Colin Kaepernick took the high road instead of a road of anger and retribution. It took a lot of courage to write his letter to the Jets. Has the NFL lost the belief in a second chance? His punishment has been significant, but when does it end?
Think about Germany and Japan, declaring war on the U.S. and causing such an unspeakable number of casualties, but are our strongest allies today. Like many, I had difficulty with Kaepernick’s actions of using football to protest, but time has opened my eyes wider to the divisionary issues that we have to heal in our nation. Giving Kaepernick a second chance is a step in that healing.
