Curbside recycling is returning to Auburn.
On Monday, the City Council unanimously voted to bring back the recycling program, although it will look a little different.
Curbside collection of recycling will be conducted biweekly and will operate similarly but will ask residents not to include glass or metals.
Accepted materials will include No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 plastics, cardboard, and mixed paper.
There also will be a mobile app called Casella’s “Recycle Better” with service alerts to provide clarity on what can be recycled.
The new program will start Nov. 1, but the city will continue to have drop-off containers at Auburn Public Works at 296 Gracelawn Road.
Curbside recycling in Auburn originally ended on June 28.
