An Auburn police officer is being held in jail without bail after being charged with domestic assault.
Stephen Easley has been charged with domestic assault and aggravated domestic assault, according to the Androscoggin County Jail.
The department said Easley is on administrative leave pending an investigation.
Easley was arrested at a home on Webster Street early Sunday morning after Lewiston police were called for a domestic disturbance. But it’s unclear exactly what happened, according to the Sun Journal.
Easley has worked in other law enforcement roles for more than a decade, the Auburn Police Department said in August on announcing his hiring.
