A Bangor woman received a sentence of three years probation for stealing more than $27,000 from her employer, a Maine Native American tribal organization.
Angelia Holt, 55, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Bangor on Wednesday, according to assistant United States attorney Alisa Ross. Holt, who pleaded guilty to the theft in July, is also required to pay $27,979.78 in restitution.
Court records show that Holt stole more than $27,000 from her employer between June 2017 and April 2021. Holt, who had been employed as the organization’s accounting clerk, used a credit card issued to a coworker to conduct personal purchases.
She then altered the invoices to conceal the theft.
