Comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm is to officially come to an end – after 24 years.
The 12th season of the show, which is due out in February, will be the last.
The award-winning series, created by and starring Larry David as a fictionalised version of himself, is HBO’s longest running scripted comedy series.
“As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character,” David said.
“And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell.
“Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”

Curb Your Enthusiasm has picked up 51 Emmy nominations and two wins, along with five Golden Globe nominations and one win.
The show took a six-year hiatus between the eighth and ninth seasons before returning in 2017.
HBO and Max content chairman Casey Bloys said it was “hard to say farewell to such a ground-breaking, brilliantly funny and iconic series”.
“Working alongside Larry David and Jeff Schaffer as well as all of the comedic masterminds that comprise our producers, cast and crew has been a joy that I will always treasure,” he said.
