A man will face trial later this year over the attempted murder of a woman in Aberfan.
Daniel Mihai Popescu, 29, from Merthyr, was charged with the alleged offence against the woman, named in court as Andreea Pintili.
He was also charged with intimidating a witness.
Popescu appeared before Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday where a trial date was fixed.
The trial is set to take place at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on 3 June, provisionally listed for five days.

Local schools and nurseries were placed under lockdown for several hours as a precaution during the incident.
Popescu also faces a summary only offence of stalking Ms Pintili between 25 October and 6 December 2023.
