PORTLAND, Maine — Portland broke an all-time record high tide on Saturday.
High tide is at 12:05 p.m.
As of 11:45 a.m.,the current stage is already 14.29 feet. The previous record high was 14.17 feet.
The National Weather Service in Gray has issued coastal flood warnings for the entirety of the Maine coastline. These warnings will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Peak storm surge of 2.5 to 3 feet is expected.
The worst coastal flooding will be around 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Major damage is looking likely along the Maine coast, especially since a lot of coastal dunes and protections were washed away earlier this week.
Areas that have never seen coastal flooding before will likely see it on Saturday.
Wave heights of up to 20 feet will also lead to significant splash over and will accentuate the damage.
Broken windows and doors with seawall damage is also expected.
After the storm moves out, we quiet down for Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds, breezy winds, and a few snow showers and flurries.
