Entertaining an amendment to the Maine Constitution is not a good idea. Regardless of the reason, such action would invariably open another can of worms or more in the future of our state.
I think LD 780 has nothing to do with keeping clinics open regardless of their services. They will stay open whether this is passed or not.
LD 780 is about proposing an amendment to the constitution for reasons of “protecting personal reproductive autonomy.” Again, I believe we do not need this amendment.
Unfortunately, LD 1619 erases the future of the unborn. That would do a significant job decreasing our future number of Maine residents and reducing our future tax base and number of people contributing to Social Security. Not that these are motivating reasons on this writer’s part.
A timeless piece of wisdom says, “My bones were not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was formed in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me when I was formless; all my days were written in your book and planned before a single one of them came to pass.”
Wouldn’t it be too bad to obliterate the lives of many countless men and women, now alive or in the future as future citizens, leaders or inventors. We have no concept of what we are ridding ourselves of.
The content of LD 780 is not healthy for the people of Maine plus its financial future.
