SCARBOROUGH – Katahdin Trust, a community bank serving northern Maine and the greater Bangor and Portland regions, is pleased to announce the hiring of Russell “Russ” Johnston as vice president, commercial services officer.
Russ joined the Bank officially on Dec. 11 and is based out of 136 US Route One in Scarborough, Katahdin Trust’s most southern of its 16 branch locations which offers checking, savings, and loan products and services to both individuals and businesses. His responsibilities include commercial lending and developing business loan relationships throughout the greater Portland market.
The addition of Johnston increases the Scarborough commercial team to eight employees, joining Aaron Cannan, Nick DiMatteo, Vicki Bessette, Karyn MacLeod, Craig Robinson, Jessica Dahms, and Sam Fitzpatrick.

A Standish native, Johnston resides in Scarborough with his wife Amy and daughter Greta. He is a lifelong soccer fan and spends his time coaching and officiating games throughout New England while serving on the board of directors for the Scarborough Soccer Club.
