Two rescue pups from Maine are competing in this weekend’s Animal Planet Puppy Bowl.
Pro-footballers Eliot and Jade are from the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.
Dozens of shelters from all over the country will bring 131 adoptable and adorable “puppy players” to make up Team Ruff and Team Fluff.
The fun event will air on a variety of networks, including Animal Planet, TBS and more.
That’s at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland is also hosting a free puppy bowl watch party in Portland with free food and drinks.
“Just getting that highlight and getting that foot traffic maybe into our building, you know, every animal that’s adopted here just makes more room for us to welcome more animals that are in need and have that other chance of starting a new beginning, getting that fresh start, so it’s just great to talk about adoption and the amount of animals that really do need homes,” Morgan Sewall of the league said.
All cash or check tips from the bar service will be donated back to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.
The free watch party will be held from 2-5 p.m. at the Embassy Suites in Portland.
