Maine’s oldest credit union will open a new full-service branch in downtown Bangor next month.
Empeople Credit Union — previously known as Infinity Credit Union — will open its new location at 6 State St. in Bangor on March 4, according to a post on the company’s website.
The credit union will keep its drive-up ATM in the parking lot at 193 Broad St. in Bangor.
The new location will be the credit union’s sixth location in Maine and second in Bangor, counting the Broad Street ATM. Other Maine locations include Arundel, Portland, Westbrook and Scarborough.
The more-than-century-old Infinity Credit Union of Maine merged with Illinois-based Deere Employees Credit Union in early 2021, then rebranded as Empeople Credit Union last year.
Deere launched in 1934 to serve employees of the John Deere company. It had 24 branches in Deere locations and others throughout the U.S.
