Skiers riding a lift at the Sunday River slopes were evacuated after the lift experienced mechanical issues on Thursday.
Shortly after 11 a.m., there was a mechanical issue on the Aurora Chairlift, according to resort officials.
There were more than 200 people on that quad lift at the time, according to reports.
The operators stopped the lift and 10 minutes later, crews started a rope evacuation, which lasted more than three hours.
The mountain says no one was hurt and those affected got replacement tickets for another day.
The lift will need to undergo an inspection before it can re-open.
The lift was last inspected for the season on Nov. 2, 2023, and passed, according to resort officials.
