The news has been filled with stories about the upcoming presidential election, the flood of people coming across our southern border and whether the United States should continue paying for the proxy war with Russia we are fighting with Ukrainian soldiers and our grandchildren’s credit card, which I would add is already maxed out.
In past weeks, I’ve heard many senators and representatives claim we must continue supplying arms to Ukraine as a matter of national security. I really don’t know if our national security and freedom are at risk, but if it is, we should be raising taxes significantly to pay for the wars, hotel rooms for migrants, natural disaster aid being paid out across the country, tax breaks for all various causes, all these being financed with freshly printed U.S. money and treasury bonds.
My baby boom generation is the first to leave the next generation in worse shape than we found it with our biggest concern making sure Social Security and Medicare are not reduced or changed. We have already done irrefutable damage to our grandchildren’s futures with the disgraceful national debt we continue to amass by trillions of dollars every year and our policies at the southern border. I think baby boomers are whistling by the graveyard knowing full well what they are doing while pursuing the American dream. Our grandchildren deserve much better than we are leaving them. We will not elect leaders who have the courage to face the fact we need to raise taxes and cut spending, therefore our politicians will continue to deliver “something for nothing” as I believe it is how they insure reelection.
Imagine having to pay for what we spend. That won’t be American, would it?
