Additional evidence has been presented to a Maine judge deciding whether the South Portland teen accused of planning an attack at his high school will be tried as an adult.
Video and photo evidence presented at Tuesday’s hearing showed the teen setting fire to stolen Pride flags and throwing Molotov cocktails at the Wainwright Sports Complex in South Portland, according to the Portland Press Herald.
Additional evidence showed social media posts allegedly made by the teen, including pictures of the suspect posing with guns.
Each photo had captions relating to school shootings.
The judge will decide if the teen will be tried as an adult when he returns to court next Tuesday.
If he is tried as an adult, the charge of criminal solicitation to commit murder could carry a life sentence.
The 17-year-old boy is accused of making threats and trying to recruit another person to commit murder at South Portland High School last spring.
The teen pleaded not guilty to criminal solicitation for murder, arson and terrorizing in connection with a murder plot at his high school.
