The Shiba Inu (SHIB) ecosystem has recorded another achievement following the launch of its SHIB Name Service. Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, made this revelation on his X (formerly Twitter) platform and how users can purchase a new SHIB name.
How To Purchase A SHIB Name
Kusama mentioned that users can purchase a SHIB name on D3’s app. D3inc is the firm that the Shiba Inu team partnered with to obtain the ‘.shib’ Top-Level Domain (TLD). The developer added that one could get a 69% discount on their purchases using his coupon code ‘Shytoshi.’ This discount, however, only applies to the first purchase.
Before now, the Shiba Inu team had opened up early access for those interested in purchasing a SHIB name before the service went public. Back then, Kusama noted that the early access allowed persons to scoop a “grail or two before anyone else.” The number of persons who took advantage of this opportunity is, however, uncertain.
Meanwhile, the Shiba Inu team has been busy as of late, securing significant partnerships in a bid to bolster the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Notably, they recently launched a new security and privacy encryption standard in partnership with Zama, an open-source cryptography firm. The initiative is aimed at fortifying SHIB’s security and growing the ecosystem.
More partnerships like the one with D3inc and Zama can be expected, as Kusama recently hinted at securing new collaborations for the ecosystem. He also added that the time has come for the team to reveal Shiba Inu’s true power, suggesting that more announcements would be made soon enough.
Shiba Inu’s Partner Set To Launch Token
K9 Finance, a liquid staking derivatives (LSD) platform built on Shibarium, is set to launch its $KNINE token on March 7. This event is significant as it could introduce new money into the Shiba Inu ecosystem. K9 Finance’s role on Shibarium is also critical as the LSD platform could help increase network activity and, ultimately, the number of SHIB tokens that are burned.
K9 Finance’s launch is coming when the Shibarium network needs some form of momentum boost. The layer-2 network’s activity has declined significantly since the turn of the new year. Although it just crossed the 400 million mark in total transactions, Shibarium has been averaging daily transactions below the 3 million mark.
That is low compared to the end of last year, when the network averaged over 7 million daily transactions for most of December 2023.
At the time of writing, SHIB is trading at around $0.00003038, down over 14% in the last 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
