SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – A man was arrested after a car struck several vehicles in South Portland Thursday night.
Debris from the crashes could be seen at the intersection of Main Street and Wilson Street.
Police said around 10 p.m. a vehicle hit multiple others, taking out traffic lights, utility wires, and a bus stop.
The damage and debris closed off the roads for around three hours.
A witness says when the vehicle hit the bus stop, several people got out and ran.
According to police, the suspect was injured, and another person was hurt but is expected to be okay.
There is no ongoing threat to the public.
The crash remains under investigation. Police believe alcohol may be a factor.
