The wreckage of a boat that came free of its mooring is now littering Cliff House Beach in Cape Elizabeth.
The boat had been moored off Peaks Island, according to the Cape Elizabeth Police Department. The remains of it washed ashore on April 5.
The town has been in touch with the Coast Guard, which is working with the boat owner to determine the next steps in the clean-up process.
Cape Elizabeth police urged residents to stay away from the wreckage for safety, “due to the nature of the debris.”
