A man accused of killing another man in Portland almost a decade ago is now free after a jury found him not guilty.
After a week of testimony, Aristotle Stilley, 27, was acquitted of murder and aggravated assault charges on Thursday, according to the Portland Press Herald.
Stilley was accused of shooting and killing 36-year-old David Anderson of Portland in 2016.
Officials said they did not find evidence that could connect Stilley to the crime scene.
Police did find another man’s DNA on the murder weapon but have not been able to identify him.
Anderson was shot just after 11 p.m. on March 15, 2016, when someone knocked on the door of his Gilman Street apartment and fired several shots through the door.
