HAMPDEN — Hampden Academy will hold its graduation exercises at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 9. Tickets are required for admission to graduation. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. The class marshal is Benet Moholland.
The following students will speak at graduation:
Sophia Robinson will deliver the valedictory address. Sophia is the daughter of Douglas and Amy Robinson of Otis. While at Hampden Academy Sophia participated in drama, show choir, student council, JCL, Tri M, and National Honors Society. Sophia also was a Student of the Quarter, Performing Arts Student of the Month, received a Maine State Outstanding Musician Solo award, and was the recipient of the Cornell Book Award. Sophia was a peer tutor in the writing center and has been awarded the Seal of Biliteracy for the State of Maine in Latin. Sophia also has done volunteer work with many organizations while also working part time jobs. In her spare time Sophia enjoys reading, painting, meditation, and yoga. Sophia plans to attend Temple University for theatre with an acting concentration and also working toward a certificate in classical vocal.
Brigette Levesque, daughter of Michael and June Levesque of Hampden, will deliver the salutatory address. While at Hampden Academy Brigette participated in girls soccer, JCL, ABS Leadership, Key Club, math team, and National Honor Society. Brigette is an AP Scholar and the Rensselaer Medal Award recipient for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Brigette also volunteered with the Hampden Food Cupboard while attending Hampden Academy. In her spare time, Brigette enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and volunteering. Brigette plans to study mechanical engineering in the fall at Villanova University.
Chandler Smith, daughter of Mitchel and Megan Smith of Hampden, is the honor essayist for the Hampden Academy Class of 2024. While at Hampden Academy, Chandler participated in girls’ basketball, girls’ tennis, Key Club, and National Honors Society. Chandler also was a Student of the Quarter, the Health and Wellness Student of the Month, was KVAC All-Conference 2nd Team in tennis, and was the recipient of the Brandeis University Book Award. During high school Chandler also volunteered with the local youth basketball programs, interned at a local veterinary hospital, and works part time. In her spare time, Chandler enjoys spending time at camp, hanging out with her friends and family, and driving around listening to music. Chandler plans to study pre-veterinary science at the University of New Hampshire in the fall.
