A 17-year-old passenger in a truck that struck a guardrail on Interstate 95 was ejected from the vehicle in the crash and taken to a local hospital.
The crash occurred just before 11 p.m. Saturday near Stillwater Avenue in Bangor, according to a statement from Maine State Police Lt. Aaron M. Turcotte.
The teen was a passenger in a Ford F250 driven by another 17-year-old, who was attempting to pass a car on the highway when they hit the guardrail. The ejected teenage passenger, who Turcotte says was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
A video shared by the Bangor Fire Department shows the heavily damaged truck hanging off the guardrail.
Police have not released the names of the driver or passenger in the crash and say the investigation is ongoing.
