A man allegedly shot his wife to death on Tuesday night in the town of Peru.
David Gaudreau, 60, has been charged with murder, according to Maine State Police Lt. Aaron Turcotte.
Gaudreau allegedly drove a truck up to a blue Hyundai on Auburn Road about 7:10 p.m. when he stopped and fired a gun into the car.
When first-responders arrived at the scene, they found 59-year-old Dale Gaudreau died in the driver’s seat, Turcotte said Wednesday morning,
Turcotte said that David Gaudreau had called several family members and told them he shot his wife.
Gaudreau surrendered to police about 11:34 p.m., and he was taken to the Oxford County Jail in South Paris.
No additional information was immediately available.
