NORTHPORT — Bayside Arts presents Stories in Architecture with Carlos Martínez Floréz on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 7:30 pm in the Bayside Community Hall, 813 Shore Road in Northport. The event is free.
Carlos Martínez Floréz looks at architecture as visual narratives that communicate emotionally complex ideas. With images of his work, both corporate and residential, he shows how designing with purpose amplifies his client’s aspirations, mission and journey.
Baysider Martínez is a principal of the global architectural firm, Gensler. Carlos is co-managing director of Gensler’s New York office and brings more than 30 years of experience to providing innovative solutions in architecture and design.
He has served on Gensler’s Management Committee and the Board of Directors, where he was instrumental in creating the Design Synergy community. His experience at Gensler also includes previous roles as a global practice area leader, studio director, design director, and creative director for the Northeast region. Carlos has received numerous honors and accolades, including induction into the International Interior Design Association’s College of Fellows and Gensler’s prestigious Don Brinkmann Award for design excellence. Carlos was inducted into Interior Design’s 2023 Hall of Fame.
Carlos’ work has appeared in publications such as Interior Design and Contract. For more than 25 years, he was a visiting professor of design at The Art Institute of Chicago.
