A family is suing a mobile home park in Gorham where a 2-year-old boy died in a pool.
In May, neighbors said they heard people calling out for the child. After a 40-minute search, someone spotted the little boy in the community pool at the Friendly Village mobile home park.
The man who found the toddler in the swimming pool jumped the fence, pulled the boy out and started CPR to try to revive him. Neighbors said EMTs then tried for 40 minutes to save the boy’s life.
Legal-Ease, a law firm in South Portland, said the 2-year-old boy’s parents have filed a lawsuit against Friendly Village, saying it failed to make repairs to the fence, which the boy was able to get through.
Neighbors said in May that there is a five-foot fence around the pool and the gate was locked with a chain.
Attempts to reach the mobile home park for comment weren’t immediately successful.
