One person was killed and two adults and two children were injured in a crash on Route 27 in Dresden on Monday.
Andrew Coombs, 33, of Portland was reportedly driving a sedan erratically south on Route 27 about 2:46 p.m. when he crossed into the northbound lane near the intersection with Carriage Court, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
His car hit two northbound SUVs. The first SUV was driven by a 41-year-old man from Auburn. The second SUV was driven by a 43-year-old woman from Augusta. Two children, ages 10 and 11, were in the second SUV with her, the sheriff’s office said.
Both SUVs rolled onto their roofs after being hit.
Coombs died in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
All four other people involved were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with internal injuries.
The crash is still under investigation.
