A Bangor Community Connector bus and a car crashed on Union Street on Tuesday morning.
The crash happened about 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Union and Sanford streets, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.
McAmbley said in an email to the Bangor Daily News that the operator of the 2011 Nissan sedan opened the driver’s door into the travel lane, and the Community Connector bus hit the door.
The Nissan’s driver reported a minor injury, but McAmbley didn’t immediately have more details.
There was minor damage to the side of the bus, while the Nissan sustained “functional damage” to the door and can still be driven.
No charges have been filed at this point.
No additional information was immediately available.
