A tractor-trailer hauling prefab walls rolled over near Jackman Monday morning when the driver fell asleep.
The driver was traveling south on Route 201 in Dennistown Plantation about 7 a.m. when he fell asleep and the truck went off the road, according to Jackman-Moose River Fire and Rescue.
The tractor-trailer missed one utility pole before striking and breaking a second utility pole, rolling over and then sliding along and coming to a stop against a third utility pole, Jackman-Moose River Fire and Rescue said Tuesday morning.
The crash severely damaged the truck. The driver managed to get out of the wreck through a small opening in what was left of the driver’s side window.
“There was no other way to get out of the truck,” Jackman-Moose River Fire and Rescue said.
While the crash extensively damaged the truck, the driver suffered only minor injuries.
The prefab walls were destined for home construction.
Crews worked throughout the day Monday to clear away the wreckage and clean up the construction debris. That work resumed Tuesday morning, which was expected to cause more delays.
No additional information was immediately available.
Dennistown Plantation is just north of Jackman.
