Last month, a mutual friend invited U.S. Rep. Jared Golden to come to the rifle range to help sight in a kid’s rifle for his moose hunt through my nonprofit, Moose Maine Kids Dream Adventures. I was struck by Golden’s compassion for the issue, interest in our struggles and commitment to getting us whatever help the federal government had to offer. Right off the cuff, he had ideas for funding for a track chair for our disabled kids to be able to get into the woods. He put me in contact with his staff immediately.
These are the kind of people we need representing us in Washington, D.C. He understands the people he represents and knows their struggles, but most importantly, knows how to help. He is in the trenches with us, willing to get his hands dirty ensuring no Mainer gets left behind. I am proud and excited to vote for his reelection this fall.
