BANGOR — Ten Bucks Theatre Company invites you to experience “Scary Stories”.
“The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees.
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas.
The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor,
And the highwayman came riding—
Riding—riding—”
“The Highwayman” by Alfred Noyes
Fall, and specifically Halloween, is many people’s favorite time of year. Why? Days get shorter and cooler. Nights start to feel a bit unending. Dry leaves skitter in the wind scratching the empty streets like skeleton fingers…, but are they truly empty or is there something or someone lurking there … waiting…???
“Scary Stories” is a compilation of some of our favorite spooky tales and poems we remember reading under the covers, shivering, wondering if the boogeyman under the bed was going to reach out and grab us or if what was hiding in the closet was peeping out from the door… just… a… bit… ajar.
